Einstein Gravity as the Thermodynamic Limit of an Underlying Quantum Statistics

چکیده

The black hole area theorem suggests that classical general relativity is the thermodynamic limit of a quantum statistics. The degrees of freedom of the statistical theory cannot be the spacetime metric. We argue that the statistical theory should be constructed from a noncommutative gravity, whose classical, and thermodynamic, approximation is Einstein gravity. The noncommutative gravity theory exhibits a duality between quantum fields and macroscopic black holes, which is used to show that the black hole possesses an entropy of the order of its area. The principle on which this work is based also provides a possible explanation for the smallness of the cosmological constant, and for the quantum measurement problem, indicating that this is a promising avenue towards the merger of quantum mechanics and gravity. e-mail address: [email protected]

Geometric Model of Black Hole Quantum N-portrait, Extradimensions and Thermodynamics

Recently a short scale modified black hole metric, known as holographic metric, has been proposed in order to capture the self-complete character of gravity. In this paper we show that such a metric can reproduce some geometric features expected from the quantum N-portrait beyond the semi-classical limit. We show that for a generic N this corresponds to having an effective energy momentum tenso...

Anomalous Statistics of Bose-Einstein Condensate in an Interacting Gas: An Effect of the Trap's Form and Boundary Conditions in the Thermodynamic Limit

We analytically calculate the statistics of Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) fluctuations in an interacting gas trapped in a three-dimensional cubic or rectangular box with the Dirichlet, fused or periodic boundary conditions within the mean-field Bogoliubov and Thomas-Fermi approximations. We study a mesoscopic system of a finite number of trapped particles and its thermodynamic limit. We find t...

Gravity stands out among the fundamental interactions because of its apparent incompatibility with having a quantum description. Moreover, thermodynamic aspects of gravitation theory appears as puzzling features of some classical solutions such as black holes. These and other aspects of gravitational theories have recently lead to the proposal that gravity might not be a fundamental interaction...

Conformal invariance from non-conformal gravity

We discuss the conditions under which classically conformally invariant models in four dimensions can arise out of non-conformal (Einstein) gravity. As an ‘existence proof’ that this is indeed possible we show how to derive N = 4 super Yang Mills theory with any compact gauge group G from non-conformal gauged N = 4 supergravity as a special flat space limit. We stress the role that the anticipa...

Thermodynamic Geometry and Topological Einstein-Yang-Mills Black Holes

From the perspective of the statistical fluctuation theory, we explore the role of the thermodynamic geometries and vacuum (in)stability properties for the topological Einstein–Yang–Mills black holes. In this paper, from the perspective of the state-space surface and chemical Weinhold surface of higher dimensional gravity, we provide the criteria for the local and global statistical stability o...
